GTA 6 will have a PC release date eventually, but not for quite a while. At least not until a good while after the game is released on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has confirmed that it doesn’t plan to launch the game on PC right away, and it’s starting with consoles because “that’s where its players mostly are.” However, the game will come to the PC platform at some point.

It’s not clear when, but suspicions seem to revolve around the idea that it will be at least a year before the game gets a PC launch. This wouldn’t be too off the mark if you consider the launch for GTA 5 on PC. It was about 18 months after the release on consoles.

Quite a while. GTA 6 comes to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026 for $80. Though not in a true physical copy, at least not right away.

So PC gamers could be looking at the capability to play to play this game sometime in 2028. As for why it might be so far out, there might be an answer to that. Ex-Rockstar Producer says the GTA 6 PC release date being later is due to limited resources You might think that “limited resources” refers to having a more limited crew to work on all versions of the game.

That isn’t really the case though. In an interview with Kiwi Talkz on YouTube, former Rockstar Games Producer John Ricchio said that Rockstar would often budget it’s time and money focusing on console launches before moving to PC because of “limited resources.“ Ricchio is referring to resources developers have to work with in terms of the hardware.

He states that it’s “much harder to shrink then it is to extend,” with regard to the resources on platforms like PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles. In other words, it’s easier for Rockstar to work within the constraints that Xbox and PlayStation have, then extend to PC which has more resource potential. The Android Headlines Take Ricchio’s belief on this makes perfect sense.

If Rockstar is focusing on consoles for optimizing the game and making it as good as it can be on consoles, then there’s a lot more potential for “shiny graphics” and other performance-related additions that can be focused on for PC later. Hence, it being easier to extend to PC after having worked on a more constrained version of the game on consoles. While it will surely upset some PC gaming fans, it’s the right move.

Because it will likely lead to a better overall game for all players at the end of the day. The post Rockstar's reasons for a later PC release of GTA 6 make a lot of sense appeared first on Android Headlines .
