A new Netflix series from “Schitt’s Creek” producer Matt Kippen is now filming in Ontario. Netflix and BBC, in association with CBC, announced the lead cast and start of production for a young adult comedy series entitled “Camped Out.” “Look out Ontario!

While there, they provide young campers with bad advice, terrible survival skills, and “abysmal role models,” focusing less on the kids and more on “their own attempts to make the summer not suck, avoid work, and wreak havoc,” all on a luxury yacht club situated across the lake.

The confirmed cast includes Oscar Chark (Allegiance, Tracker), Yuvraj Kalsi (Allegiance, Alert: Missing Persons Unit), and Evan Mok (Small Achievable Goals, Slo Pitch). The exact location of filming in Ontario hasn’t been specified, but the series joins other Netflix productions like “I Will Find You,” “Wayward” and “Ginny & Georgia” that were filmed in the province. Dineen Coffee on Yonge Street, Don Russell Drug Mart in Etobicoke, and the Sheridan Centre are also among the GTA locations featured in “I Will Find You.” Kingston Penitentiary and a restaurant, catering and banquet hall in Brantford called The Sherwood round out Ontario locations that can be found in the series, for any fans who are looking to visit some of the series’ filming locations.

Hit reality series ‘Summer House’ begins filming in Muskoka, Ont. Hit reality TV series “Summer House” is heading to Ontario’s cottage country, marking the first international adaptation of the show. NBC Universal’s reality streaming service Hayu and Lark Productions announced production and filming are now underway.

A 10-episode season filmed and set in Muskoka will “bring together a group of friends who escape to a shared house on summer weekends,” according to the news release. The production company has not yet specified which community or communities of the Muskoka region are being used in the show’s production. When is the expected release date for ‘Camped Out’?

While “Camped Out” has yet to reveal an official release date, the series is expected to premiere globally on Netflix and CBC platforms in Canada.
