An individual is facing multiple charges after Victoria Police received reports of someone smashing vehicles with a hammer inside a downtown parkade. Victoria Police say at 4 a.m. on July 11, patrol officers responded to the reports at the Yates Street parkade in the 1200 block of Yates Street. About 30 minutes later, officers found the suspect, ran after them and made the arrest, according to Sgt.
Kristin Greffard in a video update . “The suspect was arrested and identified as a prolific property offender,” adds Greffard. They are now facing facing multiple charges including one count of break and enter, one count of theft under $5,000, one count of possession of stolen property, one count of breach of probation, and 11 counts of mischief, according to VicPD’s release.
The individual appeared at a bail hearing the following day and remains in custody. They’re scheduled to appear in court on July 21, 2026.
