FUTURE ‘TREESON’ CHARGES? Re: Quebec town officially recognizes trees as sentient living beings with their own rights, online, June 22 It would be totally laughable if I didn’t know where this would eventually end up. I am referring to a town (Terrasse-Vaudreuil) in Quebec that has recognized trees as living beings, with rights that will inevitably mean cutting down a tree on my property would be a criminal act.

You know this will spread and will eventually be adopted in other jurisdictions. I exclusively burn wood to heat two houses, with propane backup for emergencies, and have no intention of stopping, but I see a fight brewing up ahead. So why stop at trees; how about grass or even dandelions?

The insanity on the left knows no bounds, and worst of all they will eventually push their tree-hugging agenda on everyone. Should we now refer to trees as “human treeings” or “treeople”? Would I be charged with “treeson” if I cut one down in cold sap?

It’s being pushed rapidly with laws not being in place first. If everyone is so sincere about keeping us safe, how about we start by demanding the feds stop allowing criminals into the country. How about we stop the “catch and release” practice and make criminals serve their full sentence.
