Drivers in Westlock should prepare for detours next week as a major road construction project is set to temporarily close a key local roadway. According to a notice from the Town of Westlock, pavement replacement is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 20, starting at 7 a.m. The work will take place on 107 Street from Highway 44 to 103 Avenue, and will continue onto 108 Street.

Construction is anticipated to last throughout the week. During the project, the affected roadway will be fully closed to traffic in both directions. Local businesses and homes will remain accessible while the work is underway.

However, the town is asking residents and visitors to access 107 Street and 108 Street from the west side of town. Municipal officials expressed appreciation for the public's patience and cooperation. "Every effort will be made to minimize disruptions to residents, businesses, and their patrons," the town noted.
