A husband and wife had to take a second look after they discovered their win while checking their lottery ticket in store. Sherwood Park couple Lorna and Rolando Lavita are celebrating a $2-million jackpot win on a winning Western 649 ticket. “When I scanned it in the store, I had to scan it twice

and then I called my husband over to scan it again and confirm what I saw!” said Lorna in a Lotto Spot release Monday. The excitement didn’t stop there and continued when they got home. “When we got home, our daughter didn’t believe us and she looked up the winning numbers to see for herself,” Lorna added.

“I was shaking, I was so excited!” The Lavitas won their $2-million prize by matching all six numbers in the June 6 Western 649 draw: 1, 7, 10, 21, 22, and 30. Now, they’re looking ahead and making plans for their future.

“We want to buy a house, make some investments, and take a trip back home to the Philippines.” The Lavitas bought the winning ticket from Petro Canada located at 100 - 270 Baseline Road in Sherwood Park.
