The family of “Al” Waram announces his passing following many years of health challenges. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Annette and parents Matthew and Irene

Ralph Alfred Waram September 2nd, 1937 – July 15th, 2026 The family of “Al” Waram announces his passing following many years of health challenges. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Annette and parents Matthew and Irene.

Left behind to remember his legacy are: his children David Waram (Giuliana), Suzanne Grier (Brian), Michael Waram, Cathy Fex (Jean), and Sandra Frappier (Denis) and; his siblings Marie Weaver (Bill predeceased), Richard Waram (Kathy predeceased), Dennis Waram (Carol), and Shirley Waram (Richard). In addition, he leaves behind many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Al came from a family culture of work and developed a strong sense of tradition and routine, all of which he felt were the foundation of a successful life.

He was proud to make Bell Canada part of that formula but prouder still to create a family with Annette to uphold that formula. They loved to hear that family was being extended and could often be heard extolling the accomplishments of their grandchildren. They were in awe of the diverse pathways each of them took.

Together, he and Annette, in different Chevy station wagons, made memories with their children travelling the various Canadian landscapes and engendering a love of camping as they stopped from one provincial park to the other. The thousands of pictures that were taken from those times testify to that. There was a plan for him to taxi somewhere every summer and always a stop at the C.N.E. Summertime gatherings that included extended family at the home that Al built, various family reunions on both sides and idyllic Christmases when Santa’s footsteps could be heard on the roof close to midnight will never be forgotten.

Always remembered will be the times spent passing down the traditions of hunting and fishing to younger family members who themselves passed them down again when he was done. Even then he still loved talking about them. Time passed, children began making their own memories and Al and Annette made different ones.

Al was very proud to recount stories of their cruises and especially their trip to Hawaii, which they enjoyed with their own siblings. Again, many photographs testify to that. We are now left orphaned however the world is a better place because they were born into it.

The family would like to thank Dr. Nistico and the ninth floor dialysis department at H.S.N. for their exceptional care and support and all the staff who cared for Al at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre during the last two years. Special thanks also to The Guardian Angels who made sure they did everything they could to make his final days as comfortable as possible and extended whatever support to the family that they might want.
