TSMC is essentially the largest chipmaker in the world. So, when the company announced a 68% increase in revenue for June 2026, we can’t say we were completely surprised. TSMC sees massive surge in revenue According to the reports, TSMC, the world’s largest chipmaker, announced that it has experienced a 68% surge in revenue for June 2026.

It reported that revenue had reached a whopping 2.4 trillion new Taiwan dollars, which is roughly $74.99 billion after conversion. This represents a 35.6% increase from the same period in 2025 and a 68% year-on-year rise. Sravan Kundojjala, an analyst at SemiAnalysis, credits this increase to the demand for AI hardware.

“The demand supply situation in AI is still quite tight and TSMC is sold out on N3, which is targeted by all leading AI GPU and CPUs this year.” TSMC has been heavily investing in its operations, spending as much as $20 billion for its Arizona facilities. There are also plans to add two more advanced chip packaging plants in Taiwan.

Now, it looks like its investment is paying off. The company commands 73% of the global pure foundry market. While there are other foundries like Intel and Samsung, TSMC is clearly in the lead.

In fact, TSMC is working towards nullifying some of the advantages its competitors hold. Might not need Apple as much anymore That being said, before the AI boom, TSMC was the go-to chipmaker for Apple’s semiconductors used in its iPhones and Macs. However, the surge in demand for AI-related hardware, including memory, could potentially allow TSMC to seek alternative sources of revenue.

Apple is known for being a tough negotiator, thanks to its size and bargaining power. As such, they typically lock in years of production at lower prices, which some of their suppliers aren’t too happy about. Now with AI being front and center, TSMC might not need to rely on Apple as much as before for business.

This isn’t to say TSMC will ditch Apple anytime soon, but it might give them better leverage. TSMC expects this boom to last for years, saying that demand for AI chips might not be met for years.
