The Outreach Centre moving to downtown Red Deer this fall Published 10:20 am Thursday, July 16, 2026 The Outreach Centre will be moving to downtown Red Deer this fall. The organization is currently scheduled to move into Youth HQ’s Centre for Social Impact, located at 4808 50 St., during the week of Sept. 14.

“The work we do is about people,” said Laura Cowell, executive director of The Outreach Centre. “While our location is changing, our mission is not. Our clients, community partners, staff, volunteers, donors and supporters can be confident that The Outreach Centre will continue to provide the trusted services and compassionate care they have come to expect.”

The move will create new opportunities for collaboration while reducing operational costs and ensuring resources remain focused on direct service delivery, The Outreach Centre stated in a media release on Thursday, July 16. The office will be temporarily closed during the move. The Outreach Centre also announced the Tools for School program will return to United Way Central Alberta.

Originally established by United Way and delivered in partnership with The Outreach Centre, the program will continue providing essential school supplies to local students and families under United Way’s leadership. “This transition creates an opportunity to strengthen and expand the community partnerships that make Tools for School possible,” said Chelsea O’Donoghue, United Way Central Alberta CEO. “By bringing together schools, social service agencies, donors, volunteers, and corporate partners, we’ll continue to ensure families have access to the supplies they need and students start the school year with confidence.

We thank The Outreach Centre for its years of leadership in delivering the program and look forward to continuing this important work alongside our many community partners.” Aside from the transition of the Tools for School program back to United Way, all other Outreach Centre programs and services will continue without interruption. “The board of directors is committed to ensuring The Outreach Centre remains a stable and sustainable organization for the long term,” said Gillian Goheen-Smith, president of The Outreach Centre’s board of directors.

“These strategic decisions position the organization to continue delivering exceptional service while adapting to the changing needs of our community. We are confident in the direction of the organization and fully support the work of our leadership team and staff.” The organization will host a community open house at its new location this fall.
