Two teen girls are facing charges after they were found in a stolen vehicle and then backed it into a police cruiser in Waterloo. On July 11, regional police received a tip that a stolen vehicle was parked on Albert Street. Responding officers located the vehicle in question and when they approached the driver, the individual attempted to flee by reversing the car into the marked cruiser.

No one was hurt and both the driver and passenger were arrested. A 16-year-old girl from Brantford has been charged with motor vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, obstructing a peace officer, and cannabis-related offences. A 17-year-old girl from Kitchener was charged with motor vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

Police are asking anyone with further information on the incident to call 519-570-9777, ext. 6399.
