Sault man wins $250K on scratch ticket

A Sault Ste. Marie man won $250,000 on a Cash Boost scratch ticket purchased at a local Circle K. He called his father first with the news and plans to use the prize for bills, renovations and a new fence.

A man from Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., is celebrating a major lottery win after scratching out a $250,000 prize on an instant game ticket. Benjamin S. struck it rich playing a Cash Boost Scratch ticket (Game #2576), a $10 lottery scratch ticket with odds of winning any prize at 1 in 3.77.

“While I was at the store, I decided to pick up a scratch ticket. I looked down at the display case and chose cash boost,” he said, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. Benjamin told OLG the first thing he did was call his dad.

“I was surprised he believed me right away. He must have heard it in my voice. He passed the phone over to my mom, and she was thrilled,” he said.

The Sault man said he plans to put his prize toward bills, home renovations and a new fence for his backyard. The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on Wellington Street West in Sault Ste. Marie, OLG confirmed.
