An 18-year-old Red Deer man has been charged in connection with a Canada Day stabbing in the central Alberta city.

An 18-year-old Red Deer man has been charged in connection with a Canada Day stabbing in the central Alberta city. Police were called to the Riverside Meadows area shortly before 5 a.m. A 42-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, Mounties say.

The 18-year-old was arrested in the area. He faces one count each of aggravated assault, robbery, and failing to comply with a release order.
