1st Fairfield Scout Group celebrates centennial anniversary

PHOTOS: Looking back at 100 years of scouting in Chilliwack Published 2:38 pm Wednesday, July 15, 2026 Tables were lined with decades of scout uniforms, badges, handmade wooden cars and other memorabilia as people took in a centennial anniversary in Chilliwack on the weekend. Saturday (July 11) marked 100 years to the day that 1st Fairfield Scout Group was formed.

Past and current youth with Scouts Canada (formerly Boy Scouts of Canada), along with scout leaders, other volunteers and members of the community gathered for the special ceremony at Fairfield Scout Hall. Other items on display included hats and berets, scout manuals, camp blankets, trophies, photos and newspaper articles. 1st Fairfield Scout Group also had a barbecue fundraiser that day, plus activities for kids like Kub Kar and Beaver Buggy races (using wooden, gravity-powered cars), and learning knife skills.
