The evacuation order affecting an estimated 100 to 150 people near Mooseland Road was issued Thursday night by Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency. At that time, the fire was estimate to be about three square kilometres in size. The department says the fire grew significantly overnight and remains out of control in the region, about 100 kilometres northeast of Halifax.

Two fixed-wing waterbombers from Newfoundland are responding alongside two of Nova Scotia’s helicopters and four of the province’s fixed-wing water bombers.
