Oak Bay home renovation hit by overnight power tool theft Published 4:30 pm Thursday, July 16, 2026 Police are on the lookout for thousands of dollars worth of tools after an Oak Bay home under renovation was hit by a thief, or thieves. Oak Bay police were called July 8 after a home in the 2900 block of Beach Drive was discovered to have been entered and power tools stolen from the residence sometime overnight.

“Officers continue to work with the complainant to confirm the list and value of stolen tools, which is estimated at several thousand dollars,” the department said in its weekly news release. No suspects have been identified. It was one of 63 calls for service to the department last week.
