Mitsubishi Heavy may supply cooling and energy systems

Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) is reportedly exploring a partnership with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to improve cooling and power management for the next generation of AI data centers, according to Nikkei. Mitsubishi Heavy could supply high-efficiency cooling systems, air conditioning, emergency power equipment and energy-management technology.

The potential tie-up would address one of the biggest limits on AI infrastructure growth: the enormous heat and electricity demands created by advanced GPUs. Nvidia designs the processors and networking systems that power AI servers, while Mitsubishi Heavy is a Japanese industrial group spanning energy, machinery, aerospace and infrastructure. Its data-center equipment is built to keep facilities operating efficiently and reliably.

Nvidia calls these large-scale AI facilities AI factories and plans to develop them globally with partners. In Asia, it is already working with South Korea's SK Group on a facility targeted for 2028 or 2029.
