More road closures coming in Penticton as work expands Published 3:46 pm Monday, July 13, 2026 The City of Penticton is adding more water projects and road closures over the coming weeks, with the next scheduled work coming to the Wiltse area. A statement released on behalf of city Council on Saturday, July 11, recognized the impacts and disruption from the multiple projects currently underway, including at the intersections of Green Avenue and Skaha Lake Road, and at Eckhardt Avenue and Government Street.

More closures were announced just two days later, with the next phase of work for the infrastructure upgrades in the Wiltse neighbourhood taking place over July 20 to 27. “We ask for the projects to be done in a timely manner and we acknowledge that there is a construction season for infrastructure work,” the Saturday statement from council reads. “This is important work for the immediate needs and long-term future of our City, and we ask the public to be patient along with us.”

Access to homes in the Wiltse neighbourhood will be maintained throughout the project, and traffic control personnel will be on-site to help guide motorists and pedestrians safely through the area. Transit route #1 will detour around the closed areas between July 20 to 24, with riders reminded to visit bctransit.com for route information before travelling or call 1-844-442-2212. Monday, July 20 Dartmouth Drive will be closed between Wiltse Boulevard and Balsam Avenue beginning at 7 a.m., including all intersections within this section. Access to the Wiltse neighbourhood will not be available from Dartmouth Drive. Traffic will be detoured via Pineview Road and Cedar Road.

Adamson Drive will be open for local traffic. Access will be available to pedestrians along Dartmouth Drive. *

Tuesday, July 21 and Wednesday, July 22 The intersection of Balsam Avenue and Dartmouth Drive will be fully closed. Access will be available via Wiltse Boulevard and Pineview Road.

* Thursday, July 23 and Friday, July 24 The intersection of Wiltse Boulevard and Dartmouth Drive will be fully closed. Access will be available via Balsam Avenue and Pineview Road.

* Monday, July 27 Single-lane alternating traffic will be in place on Dartmouth Drive during paving operations. Access to both Wiltse Boulevard and Balsam will be available.

The city warns that the schedule for work may change, with updated information posted daily on site throughout the neighbourhood and communicated as work progresses. Anyone residing in the area, or travelling through is asked to follow the direction of on-site signage and possible detours. Maps of the detours are available to view at penticton.ca/roadwork.
