A pedestrian is dead after being hit by an SUV in a Pickering parking lot. Police responded to reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the parking lot of 1105 Kingston Road around 10:15 p.m. Saturday. They say a black Ford SUV was driving through the parking lot when it hit a pedestrian.

The pedestrian was trapped under the motor vehicle for a period of time. Responding officers lifted the Ford SUV to remove the pedestrian and performed life-saving measures. Despite efforts of emergency services, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The driver of the motor vehicle stayed on scene and is cooperating with police. Anyone with information about this incident or who witnessed this collision is asked to call Detective Constable Lan #3975 at 905-579-1520 ext. 5216 (toll free 1-888-579-1520).
