Gunfire erupted near the Dockyard in Halifax, where a man was injured, police said. On July 12, around 1:10 a.m., officers responded to a report that someone had been shot in the 2100 block of Amalamek Way. Gunfire erupted near the Dockyard in Halifax, where a man was injured, police said. On July 12, around 1:10 a.m., officers responded to a report that someone had been shot in the 2100 block of Amalamek Way. When they arrived they found a 39-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police gave him life-saving measures until paramedics arrived and he was sent to hospital. The release notes that he is in serious but non-life-threatening condition. Police say the suspect is believed to have left the area on a motorized scooter before officer got to the scene.
