Pharrell’s lifestyle brand, Humanrace, just launched two new body care products for post-workout recovery.
Gone are the days your “summer bod” relies exclusively on how hard you go in the gym. Pharrell’s reminding us, this summer, that it’s also all about how you let your body recover from it all. And, with his new Humanrace drop, recovery means having the right body care products to do it with.
“The body does its best work when we take care of it,” said Pharrell in a press release. “That’s why we built this recovery system.” Building off of his existing body care range—the Humidifying Body Cream and body bars —his new launch is designed to give your body recovery specifically after movement.
First, the Smoothing Body Scrub doubles as a physical and chemical exfoliant. Plant-based cellulose and rice powder buffs out dead skin from sweat-clogged pores, working in tandem with mandelic acid, which dissolves surface buildup after a workout. Meanwhile, the grain-to-milk texture calms the skin (especially if you’re prone to inflammation) with centella asiatica, while ceramides, shea butter, and sunflower oil helps rebuild your skin barrier.
Next, the Recovery Body Lotion that supports the body’s natural recovery process. Full of anti-inflammatory actives, a ceramide-lipid complex, and four forms of hyaluronic acid, the final step in your recovery routine is meant to restore and protect your skin after physical exertion. Recovery-grade ingredients, like boswellia and ginger extracts, and magnesium, zinc, and copper, support muscle relaxation and tissue repair.
Yet, the texture is still lightweight and silky. “I’ve worked with Dr. Elena Jones, who’s been my dermatologist for more than two decades, on every Humanrace formula,” he said. From skincare to body care, “whenever we create a product, it has to perform.”
Pharrell’s entire brand is a multi-category ecosystem founded off of a ritual of renewal. And, his latest launch is the most performance-driven yet. As if his eternal skin wasn’t proof enough, “every ingredient has a purpose,” he said.
After all, “Humanrace is high-performance skincare.”
