The DeKalb Public Library will offer a program on July 11 for patrons to learn about the stories of rarely mentioned historical figures.

The DeKalb Public Library will offer a program for patrons to learn about the stories of rarely mentioned historical figures. The free program will be held at 1 p.m. July 11 in the library’s lower-level Yusunas Meeting Room, 309 Oak St. Attendees can learn about Claudette Colvin, Native American Code Talkers of the World Wars, Robert Smalls, Bass Reeves, Ida B. Wells and Triangle Shirtwaist Factory immigrant women. The program is part of the library’s America 250 initiative.
