The pool opened Saturday following mechanical repairs and testing
Lavington pool open following series of delays Published 4:12 pm Saturday, July 11, 2026 After a lengthy ordeal involving the repair of multiple mechanical issues, the Lavington Outdoor Pool has now opened for the season. The pool opened Saturday, July 11.
It was originally meant to open June 21, before staff uncovered mechanical deficiencies that required repair so that the pool could operate safely and reliably. After the first mechanical issues were resolved earlier this week, more issues arose on Thursday. Now, residents can finally enjoy a dip in the facility.
“The district extends its sincere appreciation to the community for its patience and understanding during the delayed opening,” the District of Coldstream said Saturday. “City of Vernon and district staff worked diligently to complete the necessary mechanical repairs and testing, and to resolve additional unforeseen issues that were presented during testing phases. The facility is now operating and the district welcomes residents and visitors back to the pool and wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable summer.”
