Lois Margaret Killah In loving memory of Lois Margaret Killah. Born September 8th, 1938, in Port Elgin, Ontario and passed away on July 11th, 2026, in Sudbury. Dear daughter of William George Smith and Florence Marie Smith (nee McLean).

Loving mother of Brenda Zawierzeniec (Nick) and Brian (Roxanne). Predeceased by her siblings Ray, Don, Joyce Kallos, David, Bill, and Blaine. Cherished grandmother of Brad (Natasha), Derek, Sarah, Adam, Justin (Molly Gaertner), Chris Zawierzeniec (Alicia Santerre), and Matt Zawierzeniec (Sarah).

Great-grandmother of Blair, Aria, Hendrix, Diem, Kivya, Maelle, Nyvri. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. She held a special bond with her niece Debbie Chapton of Strathmore, AB and had a wonderful friendship for over seven decades with Rita Fitzgerald.

Family was everything to Lois. In her younger years she regularly and frequently travelled throughout Ontario to visit with aunts, uncles and siblings. At times spending weeks down home on the farm in Port Elgin.

She built a strong bond with each of her grandchildren with weekly sleepovers. Each grandchild took a turn. She so looked forward to visits from the great-grandchildren and very much kept herself informed on all their activities and happenings.

A special thank you to the wonderful PSW’s, nurses and staff at Finlandia, St Joseph’s Rehab, and HSN Emergency and Fourth Floor South for their excellent care and compassion. Memorial service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home (233 Larch St., Sudbury), on Thursday July 16th, 2026, at 11:00am. Followed by interment in the Civic Cemetery.

Friends may gather in the chapel after 10:30am Thursday. For those who wish to view the service online: https://together.oneroomstreaming.com/2X7TWB In lieu of flowers, donations to Finlandia SISU Foundation, St. Joseph’s Rehab Program, or the Health Sciences North Foundation would be appreciated.

Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home. www.lougheedfuneralhomes.com
