JONESIE: We need to talk about MLA Amelia Boultbee

Boultbee used all the tactics against me and iNFOnews.ca she has been using against constituents and critics throughout her short political career — lied to my boss, trying to shut me up, then threatened to sue before this column even came out. Boultbee is now a member of government and she's already enlisted the NDP for help — against me.

OPINION For the past few months, I have been talking to some people about troubling communications and experiences with their MLA. I had noticed, as I am sure nearly anyone who has participated in an online or other political forum in the Penticton-Summerland riding has, that Amelia Boultbee doesn’t behave like most MLAs.

I’ve never seen one so willingly wade into the mudslinging of social media to find and vigorously return criticism from their constituents from their prime position, day or night. I asked around town and found plenty of people willing to talk about being bullied by Amelia Boultbee, before or after she was elected. But almost without exception, all but the most ardent and public enemies refused to talk without anonymity.
