Two Iqaluit group homes will remain open after Nunavut’s Department of Family Services reached an agreement with Angirraq Corp. to keep services running for seven youth under its care.

Angirraq, which has been in operation since 2025, received a 30-day contract termination notice from the department on June 17, CBC News reported this week, putting the future of the organization’s two Iqaluit facilities in question. The department did not provide Nunatsiaq News with a reason for its initial contract termination with Angirraq.
