Former Sens captain Brady Tkachuk will return to Ottawa in October

Brady Tkachuk will return to Ottawa as a member of the Florida Panthers on October 21 for the first of two appearances at Canadian Tire Centre next season. The Ottawa Senators and the National Hockey League released the full 84-game schedule for all clubs on Thursday, ahead of the season kicking off on Sept. 29. The Panthers will visit Ottawa on Oct. 21 for a 7:30 p.m. game.

Tkachuk and Florida will also be in Ottawa on March 18 for a 7 p.m. game. Tkachuk, the Ottawa Senators former captain, was traded by the Senators to the Florida Panthers on June 21 in exchange for three first-round draft picks. Senators general manager Steve Staios said Tkachuk asked to be traded.

Tkachuk told reporters in Florida that it was “just time for the next chapter.” Since the trade, the Senators offered fans a chance to “chuk out” the Tkachuk Fanatics jersey for a 40 per cent discount on regularly priced merchandise. The Ottawa Titans baseball club collected 52 Tkachuk jerseys during its “ Forget Brady Day ” event on July 7, giving fans a chance to swap their Brady Tkachuk jerseys in exchange for jerseys featuring the Titans’ AJ Wright, who also wears #7. 84-game schedule

The Senators first game will be on October 3 against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Toronto, followed by games in Boston on Oct. 5 and in Detroit on Oct. 6. Former Ottawa Senators captain and assistant coach Daniel Alfredsson is now an associate coach with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Senators will play their home opener at Canadian Tire Centre on Oct. 8 against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Sens will also play two games overseas this season. The Senators will face the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2026 NHL Global Series Germany with regular-season games on Dec. 18 and Dec. 20 at PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf. The Maple Leafs will visit Ottawa twice this season – Jan. 20 and Feb. 13, while the Montreal Canadiens play at the Canadian Tire Centre on March 13 and the season’s final night on April 10.
