The Carduff, Sask. product is the highest-drafted player in the province’s history. Beck, the first Canadian selected in the 2026 draft, played two seasons in the Berries purple, 2024 and 2025, named the league’s all-star game MVP, top Canadian and rookie of the year in 2024.

The 21-year-old is the highest drafted Canadian-born WCBL alumni. American Marco Gonzales, who played for the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets, was taken 19th overall by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2013 MLB Draft. Beck is coming off his junior season at Indiana State University, where he became the second player to earn the Joe Carter Player of the Year Award as the Missouri Valley Conference’s best player.
