A portion of 82 Street between 137 Avenue and Yellowhead Trail was closed on Monday night as crews worked to put out a fire at an apartment building. Smoke could be seen pouring from multiple units as crews sprayed water on the building. It’s unclear how the fire started or if anyone was injured.

Atco said gas was shut off to 1,700 customers in the Glengarry, Killarney, and Balwin areas while emergency crews respond to the fire, adding it would remain off until it is safe for emergency crews to restore service safely. More to come...
