The air quality in Durham Friday is an improvement from Thursday, but Environment Canada is warning that will change. As of 6 a.m. Friday, an orange air quality warning was still in effect for the region warning of poor air quality and reduced visibility due to the smoke coming from wildfires in northern Ontario. The weather agency said there may be a temporary improvement Friday afternoon, but cautioned very poor air quality will return Friday night and may last into the weekend.
During heavy smoke conditions, everyone’s health is at risk – regardless of your age or health status. You should limit your time outside. Environment Canada’s Air Quality Health Index forecast shows Oshawa will be in the “moderate risk” category on Friday before moving into “high risk” territory Friday night and Saturday.
