Police alleged the teen breached his release orders between April 20 and May 6 when he when he obtained a video depicting child sexual abuse and exploitation material from someone under the age of 14 by threatening the girl. Police also alleged the teen had child sexual abuse and exploitation material in his possession, and distributed it.
He was located and taken into police custody on Friday. Assaults, threats, mischief, weapons, B & E A 33-year-old man is facing nine charges after police responded to a disturbance complaint on Sunday. Police alleged the man broke into someone’s residence, brandished an edged weapon, threatened to harm three people in the residence with the edged weapon, and damaged property in the residence. The man was charged with three counts of assault with a weapon; three counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; break and enter a place — with intent to commit an indictable offence; and, mischief under $5,000.

Police alleged the man was in possession of an unauthorized firearm while in a vehicle on Friday. The man was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm; careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition; and, occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm. He was released from police custody to appear in Cornwall court on Aug. 18.
Firearms charges A 23-year-old man is facing two charges following a police traffic stop early Sunday morning. Police alleged the man committed an unspecified Highway Traffic Act violation, and was found in possession of an unauthorized firearm while in a vehicle. The man was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, and occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm.
He was released from police custody to appear in Cornwall court on Aug. 18. Drug, collision charges A 63-year-old man from Cornwall is facing seven charges following a police traffic stop in the area of Second Street East on Sunday. Police said officers on patrol had heard a loud bang, then saw a damaged vehicle on Second Street East which they pulled over.
Police alleged the man drove dangerously, struck a parked vehicle, failed to stop after the collision, was operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, and was in possession of cocaine and other items consistent with the distribution of illicit drugs. The man was charged with dangerous operation; failure to stop after accident; operation while impaired — alcohol; operation while impaired — blood-alcohol concentration over 0.08; possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking — cocaine; possession of a Schedule I substance — cocaine; and, breach of probation for failing to keep the peace.

Police alleged the woman made numerous fraudulent insurance claims between Sept. 7, 2022, and Aug. 8, 2025. She was taken into custody at police headquarters on July 9. The woman was charged with fraud over $5,000.
She was released from police custody to appear in Cornwall court on Aug. 13. Theft, breaches A 15-year-old girl is facing five charges after police responded to a complaint. Police alleged the teen breached her release conditions and probation when she stole her mother’s vehicle on Saturday.
She was located and taken into police custody in Ottawa on Sunday, and later transferred into Cornwall police custody. The teen, whose identity cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with theft of motor vehicle; breach of probation for being in care or control of a motor vehicle; and three counts of breach of a release order for leaving her residence, possessing a motor vehicle key fob, and operating and having control of a motor vehicle. She was held in police custody pending a bail hearing in Cornwall court.
Thefts, breaches A 49-year-old man from Cornwall is facing 20 charges following investigations into various complaints. Police alleged the man removed merchandise from a Brookdale Avenue business without paying for it on Dec. 30, Jan. 16, Jan. 23, April 8, April 15, April 25, April 26, April 30, and May 6; and, that he did so from a Ninth Street East business on April 17. A warrant was issued for his arrest for the Brookdale incidents.
He was located during a police traffic stop on Sunday and taken into custody. The man was charged with 10 counts of theft under $5,000 — shoplifting, and 10 counts of breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. He was held in police custody pending a bail hearing in Cornwall court.
Thefts A 40-year-old man is facing three charges following several police investigations. Police alleged the man removed merchandise from a Ninth Street West business on March 14 without paying for it, and did so again on March 27. Police also alleged the man removed something from someone else’s porch on July 5.
Officers responding to a suspicious-person complaint on Sunday located the man and took him into custody. The man was charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 — shoplifting, and theft under $5,000. He was released from police custody to appear in Cornwall court on Aug. 18.
Thefts, breach A 39-year-old woman is facing three charges following several police investigations. Police alleged the woman removed merchandise from a Ninth Street West business on April 29 without paying for it, and that she stole gas from a Brookdale Avenue business on June 13. She was located in custody at the Cornwall courthouse on Friday.
The woman was charged with theft under $5,000; theft under $5,000 — shoplifting; and, breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. She was returned to custody in the courthouse cells to await a bail hearing.
