In loving memory of Delford A. “Del” Bushey Sunrise October 22, 1947 – Sunset July 12th, 2026 Passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in Byng-Inlet, Ontario. Beloved son of Roland and Margaret Bushey.

Devoted husband of Elizabeth. Cherished dad to Sherry, Tim, Craig, Jeremy, Jody, Christopher, Stacy, Crystal, Dylan, and predeceased by Angelina, Jamie, and Ann. Loving brother of Audrey, Willard, Terry, Keith, Kevin, and predeceased by Diane, Lorne, Betty, Muriel, Vera, Harold, Carol, and Treasa.

He was adored by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all of his family and friends. He fought a courageous 4-year battle with cancer up until the very end. He worked at Bryan’s Auto in Webwood for 13 years until his volunteering began at the Elgin Street Mission, working his way up to staff for 15 years.

These were some of his happiest years. He was definitely a people person. His motto was treat people with respect and they will treat you with respect.

His family was the most important thing in his life. He loved the outdoors and his camp, enjoying his morning coffee beside an open fire. He enjoyed snowmobiling and his daily excursions on his scooter with his brother Willard and his friend George.

He loved his dog Roxy and his cat Meeko. He will fondly be remembered as a kind, loving, courageous, funny, compassionate, and humble man. He was a beacon of light to those in need.

He was always there for everyone. Sadly, that light upon this earth will shine no longer. He has long earned his time to now rest peacefully.

He will be missed and never forgotten by the lives he has touched. Inside our hearts he will live forever. Resting at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury.

Friends may call from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday July 16th, 2026, and after 10:00am on Friday. Funeral service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel on Friday July 17th, 2026, at 11:00am. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium.
