A boil water advisory that had been in effect for Six Nations of the Grand River has been lifted.

A boil water advisory that had been in effect for Six Nations of the Grand River has been lifted. On Tuesday, a community notice announced an end to the precautionary measure that began on July 10 after a waterline break was discovered. The community’s water is now considered safe to drink and use for other household purposes, such as cooking and brushing teeth.

Residents are encouraged to run all cold water taps and drinking fountains for at least one full minute before use. They should also remove all screens on taps, clean them with soap and water, and rinse them before reinstalling them. Anyone with a water treatment system, such as a water softener, should check the owner’s manual for any additional steps they need to take.

The water fill station at Six Nations of the Grand River Public Works is now running again and available for public use.
