Authorities seek public’s help in search for missing man at Okanagan Lake Published 12:00 pm Sunday, July 12, 2026 The search for a man who went into Okanagan Lake and did not resurface has been suspended as the rescuers attempt to narrow down the person’s location Search and Rescue teams were in the waters of Okanagan Lake on Saturday, July 11, looking for a young man who went overboard near Paul’s Tomb. The Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) deployed its marine and air resources to assist in the search.

However, on the evening of July 11, COSAR said a reliable search area could not be established as there were uncertainties as to the exact location of the incident. COSAR later said, RCMP “made the decision to suspend the search pending additional information that may help better define the search area.” On Sunday, July 12, COSAR spokesperson Ed Henczel told Black Press that the Okanagan Lake search is still suspended, pending further information that can assist with rescue efforts.

“If anyone witnessed the incident and can give RCMP a possible subject location, please do so,” said Henczel. COSAR is also currently assisting in a search for a missing person at Mara Lake.
