England fans were met with heartbreak as they lost 1-2 to Argentina in the semi-final, which would have seen them play Spain in the World Cup final on July 19. “We’re coming home. We’re coming home. We’re bringing it.

Feel very confident about our chances today,” said spectator Jack Ramsey. Despite an intense game in which England scored the first goal, Argentina’s comeback won them the match, leaving disappointed fans to wait another four years for their next chance. “I’ve always cheered for England, and it’s been amazing to see them in the World Cup, and by amazing I mean heartbreaking,” said England fan Hamilton Mack.

“As a Canadian, this year was something special. It ended for us Canadians, and I got to keep it going with my family in England.” Despite the disappointment, Mack says that seeing support for different nations emerge has been the highlight of this World Cup.

“You look around here and see what this means to so many people, not just Canadians or the English; everybody has been out and supporting. I think the World Cup overall has been just a complete success.” Despite best efforts, Chek News could not find Argentinian fans to interview.
