Two people were killed and at least four others were injured during a mass shooting at Toronto’s Salsa on St. Clair street festival Saturday evening. In a social media post shared at 8:20 p.m., Toronto police issued a warning to the public about an active shooter at the site of the festival near St. Clair and Arlington Avenues. Police say six people were found with gunshot wounds and two people were pronounced dead at the scene.

Footage obtained by CityNews shows paramedics performing life-saving measures on at least one victim within a large crowd of spectators. Groups of people were also spotted running to safety. Authorities were able to secure the scene shortly after 9 p.m. “A large police presence remains in the area as officers continue their investigation,” police wrote in an update.
