Manitoba RCMP say a 28-year-old man is dead after a train and a Manitoba Sheriffs van collided west of Portage la Prairie Tuesday morning. Around 8 a.m. on July 14, RCMP responded to a report of a collision along Road 40 West. It is believed that a Manitoba Sheriffs van collided with a train, which caused the van to roll and land in a ditch.
The driver of the van, a 28-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. An investigation is ongoing between RCMP, CN Police and Manitoba Workplace Health and Safety.
